Introduction

Well, we have finally and thankfully reached the end of a semester filled with blogs, computers, science fiction, cyber buddies, and total stress. Whether dealing with essays or research papers, electronic issues or making sure everything gets turned in on time, we have all stuck out a tough semester and a tough class! I hope this portfolio will be pain-free, relatively short (which I am not known for), and simple. Of course I hope to show you how I have grown as a writer, my writing process, my goals, and where I wish to go with my writing, but I really want to give you a peek into how I feel about my writing and why I do what I do.

This will be divided into sections (Introduction, Goals, Assignments, and Final Reflection), containing links to particular papers when suitable. Comment boxes appear below the end of the posts, and are pretty self-explanatory.

Thank you guys so much for all the comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism—good luck!

Hi Morgan,
Your portfolio is very good. It is well organized and thought out. You should be very proud and happy. I like that assignments you chose to reflect on, I chose some of the same. You have grown as a writer, at least I can tell. Good job and good luck!

Hi Morgan!
Great portfolio, but I expected nothing less from you. You are such a powerful writer and I have enjoyed reading you work, even though it has intimidated me at times (you are SO good!). All year Daphne and I would read each others stuff, think that we had done a good job, then one of us would IM the other one saying "have you seen Morgans paper WOW! It is amazing! How does she do it? Maybe we should redo ours?" :)
It has been a pleasure being in class with you. Good luck at the new school and keep in touch! You know my IM address.

"English isn’t bad once it’s over." Were truer words ever spoken? But it did have its moments, and your work was a blast to read. You have a wonderful portfolio here full of great work, and I know you are going to do very well. (By the way, I never would have known, or thought, that you "entered into this course fresh out of my junior year of high school" if you hadn't told us! To quote the talk show audiences--you go, girl!)

Morgan, I enjoyed your Portfolio and your "goals for the class", especially. I don't think you had any problems getting your work finished "on time" because you were always one of the first to have your comments on the MB regarding the current assignment. I didn't think you "rambled" in your papers or your comments - you always seemed so "on target" to me. You said another goal was to better understand the reading and I sure think you hit that target, as well. Your papers were always clear and to the point, and you never left the reader wondering where you stood on an issue. Best of luck in the future with all that you undertake. Bye, Cheryl

I was just wondering if you are an English major. You are just such a great writer and you can just think of the most interesting topics to talk about. I can't believe you entered this class fresh out of your Junior year in high school. You sound like such an experienced writer. I really enjoyed reading your work this semester because you always had something interesting to say. Good Job and good luck :-)
